The Power Electronics Research Centre (PERC) is a non-profit research entity.

The PERC has been established since November 2000 and approved by the Research Committee and Faculty of Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic
University.

The Centre has a comprehensive range of facilities and equipment. The aims of the Centre are to provide high level of research and development and support local and overseas industrial work. We provide technical training for local engineers who work in the field of power electronics. Regular workshops and conferences are organized by the Centre to foster the exchange of ideas among various research institutions and power electronics manufacturers.

PERC at a glance

  • Over the past three years, we have published more than 125 journal and170 conference papers.
  • During the same period, we have been awarded 12 CERG projects, with a total amount of HK$6 million.
  • We have also carried out more than 43 research projects with a value of more than HK$15 million and at present we have over 30 on-going projects and 2 Teaching Company Schemes.
  • We have also organised 28 functions last 3 years.
  • The consultancy services to the industry are over 6 millions in last 3 years in the research record.
