Energy-saving is an important issue in the 21st century. Therefore, with ever increasing awareness and emphasis on saving energy, now is the time to really focus our attention on using an alternative but free source of energy, the SUN (solar energy).

With solar energy being a renewable source of fuel, we can steadfastly conserve the earth¡¦s valuable resources by using this type of energy, and help to be environmentally friendly.

The Solar Project was created to assist the government to help reduce global warming, but more importantly to help the local council to provide solar powered street lighting to community areas where there are problems with restricted or unavailable light sources. These include places in the New Territories such as Yuen Long and also the outlying islands such as Ping Chow, etc.

The proposed new solar powered street lights will be powered by solar energy, and will save the government hundreds and thousands of dollars annually on electricity costs as well as provide additional lighting to areas that require them most.
